NECEC Innovation

Our Innovation team runs the Northeast branch of the largest cleantech accelerator in North America, Cleantech Open, as well as a vital networking pipeline connecting later-stage ventures to partners and capital, called Navigate.

Cleantech Open Northeast has trained 601 early-stage cleantech startups through its annual business accelerator. The program runs once a year for about six months, with the core programming during the summer months. Cleantech Open is like a mini MBA – teaching entrepreneurship skills to propel startups on the path to commercialization as quickly and effectively as possible.

NECEC’s Navigate program leverages the power of NECEC's networks to provide cleantech startups access to resources and business support to grow and scale.

 

Working with dozens of partner organizations (the Navigate Innovation Partners) including incubators, accelerators, and associations, Navigate helps partners and their portfolio startups get to their next growth stage through its unique services and events.

 

The goals of our innovation programming are to:

• Develop new technologies critical to modernizing the grid and drawing down atmospheric carbon
• Recruit diverse founders to programming
• Track commercialization rates and jobs created
• Cultivate cross-sector partnerships and investor connections
