NECEC Statement DOER's Six Month SMART Extension

NECEC commends the Department of Energy Resources and the Baker-Polito Administration for taking an important step to provide solar companies greater flexibility in managing the coronavirus crisis. By extending the SMART deadline by six months, developers will have added assurance that COVID-19-related disruptions won't jeopardize their participation in the solar program that is key to achieving the Commonwealth's solar goals. NECEC looks forward to working with our members and the Administration to advance the clean energy transition during this challenging moment in time.
