NECEC Executive Vice President Janet Gail Besser to Speak on Major New England Energy Initiatives

Janet Gail Besser, Executive Vice President of NECEC, the premier voice of businesses building a world-class clean energy hub in the Northeast, will speak at the 151st New England Electricity Restructuring Roundtable on September 30, 2016. Bringing a wealth of policy knowledge and years of experience in the clean energy industry, Besser joins the Connecting the Dots: Major New England Energy Initiatives panel.

Besser will join panelists including Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs Undersecretary Need Bartlett, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Deputy Commissioner Katie Dykes, New England Power Pool Chair Joel Gordon, and ISO New England Vice President Robert Ethier to discuss major energy initiatives in progress across New England, such as the recently passed comprehensive energy legislation in Massachusetts. Besser will focus her remarks on how these initiatives can help drive growth in the clean energy industry, meet clean energy goals, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and spur economic development.

Besser leads NECEC's Policy, Government Affairs and Membership strategy and activities. Prior to joining the organization, she served as Vice President of Regulatory Strategy and Policy at National Grid, and previously was Chair of the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities. Her deep expertise in clean energy policy will undoubtedly help regulators and stakeholders attending the roundtable to ‘connect the dots’ on the myriad of energy initiatives at play in New England today.

Founded in 1995 out of electricity restructuring, the New England Electricity Restructuring Roundtable is hosted by Raab Associates, Ltd.
