NECEC Announces New Board Chair, Inducts Former Chair into Clean Energy Hall of Fame

NECEC announced last night at its 12th Annual Green Tie Gala that Dan Goldman, Managing Director of Clean Energy Ventures, was unanimously elected NECEC’s new Chair of the Board of Directors. Dan succeeds Mitch Tyson, Principal at Tyson Associates, who served for more than eight years as Board Chair.

“Dan is a highly experienced entrepreneur, venture and project investor, and active across all of the Northeast,” said Peter Rothstein, President of NECEC, to more than 400 members of the NECEC community present at the Green Tie Gala. “He is one of the few people who equals Mitch with his diversity of roles and experience across our community. Dan will be a great Chair at NECEC.”

“Dan is the perfect person to serve as Chair of NECEC,” said Mitch Tyson. “He has been deeply involved in all major parts of our ecosystem, and is a passionate advocate for clean energy technology, innovation, investment, and policy.”

As a part of the evening’s award ceremony, NECEC honored Mitch for his leadership across the entire industry by inducting him into NECEC’s Clean Energy Hall of Fame. Though Mitch is stepping down as Chair, he will continue to serve on the Board of Directors of both the Northeast Clean Energy Council and NECEC Institute.

“Mitch has probably given more of his time and expertise to our community than any other Board member, including mentoring Cleantech Open Northeast startups and building bridges between NECEC and other organizations where he also sits on the Board” said Peter Rothstein. “We are thrilled that despite the transition in leadership, Mitch will remain a member of the NECEC team.”

“I’ve been fortunate to work with Mitch within NECEC and as a part of Clean Energy Ventures and Greentown Labs, as well through supporting so many startups,” said Dan Goldman. “These are big shoes to fill, and you deserve our thanks and recognition.”
