At SOMOS, Sunrun Holds 1st Puerto Rico Viewing of "A Year in the Dark: The Movement to Light Up Puerto Rico with Solar"

Moving Documentary Showing for Public Officials and Conference Attendees Tracks Puerto Rico’s Embrace of Solar Energy to Help Rebuild

San Juan – When Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, tragically claiming a still-unknown number of lives that has climbed into the thousands, it decimated the island’s energy infrastructure. Puerto Ricans lost an estimated 3.4 billion customer-hours of energy, and even after six months, more than 100,000 households were without access to power.

Solar and back up storage energy has been a key part of Puerto Rico’s rebuilding efforts and, in a very special screening – the first on Puerto Rico – Sunrun will present "A Year in the Dark: The Movement to Light Up Puerto Rico with Solar" at this year’s 2018 SOMOS el Futuro conference, hosted by the New York Assembly/Senate Puerto Rican and Hispanic Task Force.

When: TODAY Friday, November 9, 2018. There are 2 viewings, at 3PM and 4:15PM.

Where: Centro de Convenciones de Puerto Rico, SOMOS PR Business Expo

The showing is free and open to SOMOS attendees. To RSVP and for more information, please contact:
