February Greendrinks - Portland

NECEC's Maine Affiliate E2Tech is thrilled to have been selected to be the Greendrinks featured non-profit in February! The event, which will be 5:30-7:30pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, will be hosted at TideSmart Global. 

No formal registration is required for this event, but please register here so they know how many people are coming. Simply show up at TideSmart and pay at the door! The cost is $5 if you bring your own glass/mug/drinking vessel and $10 if not.

TideSmart Global, an experiential media and marketing firm, is an industry-leading group of six companies, all headquartered on a 6-acre eco-friendly campus in Falmouth, Maine. TideSmart installed one of the first electric vehicle charging stations in Maine, and the campus features 350 square feet of solar panels that power 40 percent of the campus, and numerous other green features.

An exciting addition to this month's Greendrinks is the opportunity to tour TideSmart's newest addition to their campus - the Viridescent House, the first net-energy-positive building in Maine! The Viridescent House will be a certified Passive House (or Passivhaus), a rigorous, voluntary, international standard for energy efficiency in a building. Currently, there are only a handful of net-zero buildings in the state, and this house will actually produce twice the amount of energy needed to sustain itself and therefore is a net-positive house. Read more about the Viridescent House here!
