The Northeast Clean Energy Council (NECEC) is proud to announce the hiring of Barry Reaves as its first-ever Vice President for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) & Workforce Development. Reaves will lead the organization's efforts to ensure that the elements of DEIJ are embedded as imperatives in NECECs mission, vision, values and strategic plan.

Commonwealth Fusion Systems officially cut the ribbon at their headquarters in Devens, MA. On hand were Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm, Massachusetts Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey, Rep. Lori Trahan, Massachusetts Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll, MA Energy Secretary Rebecca Tepper and MA Economic Development Secretary Yvonne Hao. The company expects its prototype reactor to be ready in 2025 with commercial-scale reactors ready in 2030.

The Northeast Clean Energy Council held our first State Clean Energy Day of the year on February 2 in Augusta, Maine. It was an action-packed day beginning first thing with an Energy and Environment Legislative Preview hosted by our partners E2Tech.
