NECEC Welcomes Executives from Nexamp and Veolia to Board of Directors

NECEC (Northeast Clean Energy Council and the NECEC Institute) announced the election of two new board members: Zaid Ashai, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nexamp and John Gibson, President and Chief Operating Officer, Municipal & Commercial business of Veolia North America. Gibson will serve on the board of the Northeast Clean Energy Council, while Ashai joins the board of both the Northeast Clean Energy Council and NECEC Institute.

We look forward to working with them to grow the region’s clean energy industry and drive additional impact towards our mission.”

Ashai leads Nexamp having previously overseen the company as General Partner at Point Judith Capital. Prior to joining Nexamp, he specialized in investments in next-generation energy efficiency technologies at Good Energies, a global clean technology venture capital firm. Ashai has also served as a judge and mentor for Cleantech Open Northeast, one of NECEC’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship programs.

Gibson leads Veolia North America’s Municipal and Commercial business, which provides sustainable, reliable water and energy solutions to hundreds of communities and commercial institutions in North America. He previously served as Senior Vice President for the South Region of Veolia, supporting water, wastewater, and energy operations in the southern United States. An employee of Veolia since 1994, Gibson brings over 25 years of experience in utility management and operations to the board of the Northeast Clean Energy Council.
